Arrogance of the authority
I discovered this story in the website. I would like to share with all of you. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a federal law enforcement agency under the United States Department of Justice, tasked with combating drug smuggling and use within the United States. The authority makes people be decadent. I think it is right. It is possible to be happed in any country.
A DEA officer stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked with an old rancher. He told the rancher, “I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs."
The rancher said, “Okay, but don’t go into that field over there…" and he pointed the location.
The DEA officer verbally exploded saying, “Mister, I have the authority of Federal Government with me!"
Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher.
“See my badge! This badge means I am allowed to go any where I wish to go…!!"
“No questions asked and no answers given!! Right! Have I made myself clear?!"
The rancher nodded politely, apologized to the DEA officer and went about his chores.
A short time later, the old rancher heard loud screams, The rancher looked up and saw the DEA officer running for his life, being chased by the rancher’s big Santa bull….
With every step, the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it seemed likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified.
The ranger threw down his tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of his lungs….
“Show your badge quickly, show him your badge as quickly as you can…!"
This story make me see the arrogance of the authority.
The Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) is a federal law enforcement agency under the United
States Department of Justice, tasked with combating drug smuggling and use
within the United States. Not only is the DEA the lead agency for domestic
enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act, sharing concurrent jurisdiction
with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Immigration and Customs
Enforcement, it also has sole responsibility for coordinating and pursuing U.S.
drug investigations abroad.
